The season has well and truly turned! Happy Springtime everyone! We've been busy scouting bird activity and listening to bird calls and making nests. We're starting to see and find many more flowers and different textured and colored leaves as they unfurl. We spotted a lady bug and a bee for the first time since last fall today. We have been making some extra time to play music during these last few weeks of bird study. On Wednesday of last week we talked about woodpeckers and how and why they drum. It was so fun to follow that lesson up by having Boinoir come and play his drums and Ghanaian shakers for us at the end of the day! This week on Thursday we will be talking some more about how and why birds sing, and we will be lucky enough to have Shanley Dellinger, Luna's mom, come in to play the violin for us. She's going to play some classical tunes, and then show us some other fun things that the violin can do. It'll be another great up close sound experience and everyone is invited to come!
