This post is originally from Sept 3, 2018 Hello everyone! Welcome to school! It has been so lovely to do home visits and see everyone in their own space with their toys and to connect one on one. Thanks for helping make that happen. Hopefully it will help everyone feel confident for transition into school this week. We will be talking about squirrels this week and next week too! And we will be talking about bravery and balance. We will be learning new routines, and talking about making new friends and building community. Concerning drop off, we will be meeting in the back yard. Please drop off your child's things in their cubby in the house. Cubbies are labelled. They only need extra clothes, lunch and water bottle this week. Also it would be helpful if everyone went to the bathroom either at home or as soon as they arrive at school before joining for play in the yard so that we can have playtime and circle time before our first bathroom break. Please drop off at the gate, no parents in the back yard. We are hoping that this routine lends itself to a happy, easy goodbye. Thank you!
Concerning illness, I just want to clarify my policy. Hopefully everyone is still healthy from summer sun and rest but cool wet weather is coming and colds and flus with it, and because we are an outdoor program it is extra important that everyone shows up to school healthy. Please do not bring students to school if on that school day or during the night before they have a fever, have vomited, had recurring diarrhea, have thick yellow mucus, or have a persistent or mucusy cough. Normal, clear runny nose or tickly post nasal cough caused by allergies is fine. It's a busy morning and we want everyone to be feeling up to the day! Thank you for your help with keeping the school community healthy. Have a great evening and we'll see you soon!
